Are you passionate about supporting children's learning and development? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a wonderful Year 4 team in a primary school based in Morecambe. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work both in a general classroom setting and provide one-to-one support for pupils with additional needs, where required.
This position is to start immediately and is to continue until the end of the academic year.
Purpose of the Role:
To support teaching and learning in the Year 4 classroom, assisting the class teacher in delivering an engaging curriculum, providing targeted group and one-to-one support, and ensuring all pupils can access learning effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the class teacher in delivering high-quality teaching and learning activities.
- Support individual pupils, including those with additional learning needs, to ensure they make progress.
- Work with small groups to reinforce learning and encourage independent thinking.
- Provide targeted one-to-one support as required.
- Help manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
- Prepare resources and assist with classroom organisation.
- Support pupils social and emotional development.
- Liaise with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for children.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children, preferably in a school setting.
- Understanding of primary education and the Year 4 curriculum.
- Ability to build positive relationships with children and staff.
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting children's development.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification).
