The strategic sales leader of the hotel’s sales and marketing function is to proactively drive the sales and marketing of all the hotel facilities, outlets, and room segments in agreement with the General Managers and Commercial Director. With a key focus on establishing and managing local and national commercial accounts via each relevant global brand; generating group and individual residential and meeting business.The position shares responsibility for achieving revenue budget, RGI target, customer satisfaction through quality, employee engagement and net operating profit across all segments. The position is part of the Leadership team within the hotels and works closely with the Cluster Revenue Manager to take full ownership of the below responsibilities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
PROFIT- Assists in the development of Sales & Marketing goals and strategies, with alignment to hotels business plans.
- Executes the strategic commercial plans, business plans and reviews monthly KPI’s.
- Ensures sales and marketing goals are met for both self and the hotels teams.
- Demonstrates leadership to revenue generating departments driving sales culture
- Ensures focus is on proactive sales but assists the reactive team in conversion
- Develops strong partnerships with local organisations and brand
- Develops strong community and public relations by ensuring property participation in local, regional and national tradeshows, exhibitions, networking and client events.
- Drives each segment through account penetration and searching for new business to ensure fair share is achieved and budgets are met and exceeded
- Drives and keeps up to date on brands and industry initiatives
- Works closely with and drives the brands global sales team to drive fair share
- Has a full understanding of the brand compliances and values
- Conducts tele sales and social selling weekly and makes appointments for self and team colleagues
- Produces sales leads for other LHM hotels where relevant.
- Updates the IHG website with offers and any updates required
- Delivers a light touch social media plan and updates
- Researches competitors’ sales strategies to identify growth opportunity in TRevPAR to increase market share.
- Suggests innovative marketing ideas and proactively develops them to grow share
- Reviews the STR, competitive shopping reports and other resources to maintain an awareness of each hotel market position.
- Completion of each hotel annual corporate Wish, Want, Walk documentation utilizing strong corporate management and rigorous competitor research, to be updated monthly.
- Ensures consideration is given to the local demand calendar when agreeing new accounts and business.
- Develops and converts leads and enquiries; records all data, via hotel PMS and Salesforce.com to the standards set by Lighthouse Hotel Management.
- Ensures guest expectations are met or exceeded throughout sales process.
- Is highly visible and interfaces with customers on a regular basis to obtain feedback on quality of service levels
- Attends pre and post conference meetings where relevant to support hotel needs
- Ensures account management activity is recorded in Salesforce.com and reported
- Monthly report is completed by second working day of the month
- Attend business reviews / executive board meetings as appropriate and actively contribute to all forums
- Demonstrate a full understanding and awareness of all policies and procedures
- Work collaboratively with each hotel General Manager and Sales Managers.
- Through a weekly strategy meeting, ensures regular ongoing communication takes place to inform of sales activity, set expectations and awareness
- Ensures all departments have knowledge of Space invaders sales incentive
- Attends internal and external courses that are statutory or are deemed necessary
- Proactively develops and manages internal key stakeholder relationships.
- Familiarises & complies with the company policies, conduct & procedures
- Performs other tasks at the level of the role as directed by your line manager
- Desire and ability to improve knowledge and skills through on-going development
- Single unit sales management experience, delivering results across markets
- Excellent communication and presentation skills and mentoring skills
- Knowledge of all market segments and total sales revenues to support hotels
- Experience of working with a global hotel brand and deliver strategies
- Strong customer relationship management skills and ability to negotiate
- Knowledge of revenue management and account profitability, RFP and systems
- Strong organisational skills, effective decision making skills, problem solving skills
- Ability to support, develop and implement successful sales and marketing strategies
