An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the National School of Healthcare Science as Project Support Officer working as part of a team to coordinate the assessment and support for healthcare science learners across all 4 UK countries. The role provides an opportunity to work with experts across healthcare science education and training on a national basis and will lead the project coordination and delivery of a range of activities which support learners in the progression and completion of their programmes.

The role will be part of a team providing specialist support in the delivery of the assessment of learners. If you are an experienced administrator looking for a new and challenging role to develop your skills and further your career then these may be the opportunities for you.

The post holder will work with a wide and varied range of stakeholders at all levels and will have an important external facing role in liaising with trainees and their training departments across the UK.

You will be part of a team that manages the day to day operations and have the opportunity to influence and shape the operational development of the services. Able to provide comprehensive project administration support, you will be highly organised, able to multitask, problem solve and prioritise your own workload with minimal supervision.

You will be conscientious with meticulous attention to detail and see tasks through to conclusion including leading, delegating and overseeing the workload of others. You will be an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills and be confident in using all MS Office packages and be capable of learning how to use other digital platforms with training.

You will be educated to degree level or have an equivalent level of knowledge or experience in a similar area. Skills to influence, negotiate and manage challenging conversations with tact and diplomacy will also be useful in this role. The right candidate will demonstrate drive and enthusiasm for the service they will deliver.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.

NHS England hold a Sponsor Licence; this means that we may be able to sponsor you providing the Home Office requirements are met. To be eligible for sponsorship through the Skilled Worker route you’ll usually need to be paid the ‘standard’ salary rate of at least £38,700 per year, or the ‘going rate’ for your job, whichever is higher.

The National School of Healthcare Science works with education providers and healthcare organisations across the UK to oversee the implementation of training developed for scientists working in healthcare at all levels. The School is committed to ensuring that trainees receive high quality training and that they are supported to be successful through robust assessment and support activities.

You will be able to contribute to the development of services, have a direct impact on the experience of learners and will be working with a broad range of people at all levels.

The School has an office based in Birmingham but operates a hybrid model of working. As a national organisation there may be some requirement to travel nationally and stay overnight on occasion to support events and activities associated with the training so a flexible approach is needed.
