The role may interest candidates with experience in emergency care, triage and managing acute situations. The clinic currently sees a variety of patients including walk in early pregnancy, general gynaecology and urgent referrals. There are out outpatient procedures such as hysteroscopy, medical management of miscarriage, cyst drainage and biopsy that take place in the department too.
- Line management of a team of nurses
- Co-ordination of clinics and nursing team and ensuring to the smooth running of the EPU/GDU
- Ensuring safe, kind and compassionate care for our patients
- Maintaining safe staffing levels
- Dealing with patient queries arising throughout the day in the department and liaising with medical teams and appropriate escalation
- Supporting daily outpatient clinics by working closely with clinical teams
- Working as part of the clinical team in hysteroscopy and other procedures such as MVAs
- Demonstrating good communication skills with colleagues, patients and carers
- Being open to change in the department and learning new skills as needed
- Demonstrating teamwork by being flexible and building good working relationships with colleagues
- Working collaboratively to improve pathways
- Ensuring education and competency of the nursing team.
