Dental Nurse Manager

Securing and assuring the highest standards of clinical care by providing leadership to nursing and support staff To contribute to the annual strategy and business plan To co-operate to provide nursing cover across the hospital ensuring staffing levels and skill mix are based on clinical need.
To manage non staff resources in the department, ensuring value for money and appropriate and efficient usage. To ensure staff support systems are in place liaising with Occupational Health and HR when necessary. To be involved in the recruitment and retention of staff, and contribute to induction processes.To carry out appraisals and performance review of all nursing staff.
To work together with the Clinical Support Managers and the Assistant Director of Nursing to ensure all staff undertake continuing clinical and professional development and comply with mandatory training requirements. To encourage leadership and supervisory development, promoting these skills within the workplace including the development of action learning sets.
To contribute to the creation of a continuous learning environment to support all staff, both qualified and trainees. Work with the clinical team to ensure clinical governance is an active process within the departments. To adhere to Trust protocols, procedures, guidelines and policies for all nursing staff within the department.
To continually update your knowledge base so that nursing procedures are based on clinical need. To be involved in disciplinary procedures as necessary with the Assistant Director of Nursing and Clinical Support Managers, in accordance with the Trusts disciplinary procedures.
