Static Neurological Physiotherapist | University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust
You will work alongside an established MDT including 2 part time specialist physiotherapists.
The role will involve the following:
- Using specialised skills to complete assessment and treatment of patients with complex neurological presentations including spasticity management, seating, 24 hour postural management and complex discharge planning.
Develop and deliver a comprehensive training programme to all members of the MDT
Training and development of more junior staff including qualified physiotherapists and therapy assistants and will include completing annual appraisals.
Deputising for Band 7 Physiotherapists in the day to day management of the physiotherapy team including attending meetings.
To provide assessment and treatment to patients with complex neurological presentations, including discharge planning, seating assessments, 24 hour postural management and spasticity management.
To provide support, guidance, training and evaluation of qualified and unqualified staff. This would include working with the nursing team and other members of the MDT to deliver a comprehensive training programme.
To ensure professionalism and excellent communication with staff, patients and relatives in routine and complex circumstances, including holding difficult conversations.
To deputise for the Band 7 in the day to day management of the unit including attending relevant meetings.
To develop and deliver a comprehensive training programme for the MDT.
