Teaching Assistant
The ideal candidate will be available Monday – Friday, 8.45am to 3.15pm during term time. We are looking for candidates who can start as soon as possible. We are ideally looking for candidates with a full UK drivers’ licence.
You will be responsible for supporting students with their learning activities with instructions from the teacher regarding what work they should be doing. On occasion you will also be required to work on a 1:1 basis with students who are struggling with specific tasks to help aid their understanding.You will need to have good communication skills for this role as you will be required to communicate work to the students while also liaising with the class teacher regarding students progress. We are looking for individuals who can make learning fun to help the students stay focused and on task.
You will be required to help the teacher with class activities throughout the day, for example when the class are doing group reading you may be required to sit with a student who struggles with their reading and to help them so they can be involved with the class.
You will need to be flexible as you may be required to float around the classroom aiding different students with specific activities/ subjects that they struggle with.
The ideal candidates will be aware of Child Protection, Health and Safety, Behaviour, Teaching and Learning and Equal Opportunities policies. You will also need a Child Workforce DBS which can be completed during the recruitment process.
