Why this job matters

The DDo S security team are responsible for the delivery and in-life operational support for BT’s DDo S platform for BT’s own redside applications as well as supporting the commercial DDo S team who use the platform we manage and support to deliver DDo S solutions to our customers.
We work closely with key stakeholders for DDo S and security solutions, including our Product and Portfolio teams, Security Sales and colleagues in Protect BT, to ensure the successful delivery of world class security solutions to our end customers.

This role can be based in either Manchester or Sheffield & follows hybrid working (3 days in office, 2 days from home)

What you’ll be doing
  • Providing 3rd Line support via On-Call during incidents
  • Ability to lead and deliver large technical projects
  • Configuring and maintaining BT’s Sightline Deployment consisting off Arbor Leaders, Customer Portals, TRA’a (Collectors) and TMS.
  • Responsible for configuring and troubleshooting the following network services running on the Sightline platform; AAA, SMTP, DNS, NTP, configuration of platform backup/restore
  • Responsible for change management on the Arbor Sightline deployment.
  • Responsible for ensuring the Sightline platform conforms with TSA compliance
Skills
  • Networking and security architecture/ implementation e.g. router implementation, configurations etc.
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Experience in system administration of Unix based servers.
  • Experience of working with Open stack cloud
  • Knowledge of Firewalls preferable
Experience Required for the Role
  • Advanced knowledge and experience of DDo S (Distributed Denial of Service) - MANDATORY
  • Advanced hands-on networking & security implementation experience – MANDATORY
  • Advanced understanding of TCP/IP and network protocols - MANDATORY
  • Excellent communication skills- able to adapt technical communication style to audience - MANDATORY
