Job Description

Senior Credit Analyst (Mandarin Speaking)
  • Deliver high-quality and independent assessments and recommendations for credit risks related to corporate entities, financial institutions, sovereign counterparties, issuers, and clients.
  • Provide detailed and accurate evaluations of country-specific risks as necessary.
  • Offer technical support, guidance, and assistance on credit-related issues to all business units.
  • Advise on the structuring of potential transactions and provide guidance on the preparation of credit proposals to ensure all risks are efficiently identified.
  • Stay informed of market trends in international business, including significant developments in the UK and global credit markets.
  • Support the coordination of local Credit Committee meetings and approvals, and assist with the presentation of credit proposals to Head Office Credit Committees.
  • Help establish and maintain credit risk management systems, controls, and procedures that meet Branch requirements and external audit standards.
  • Monitor compliance with approved credit limits and ensure any significant breaches are reported to the Deputy Head of Risk on the same day they are discovered.
  • Ensure all credit risks are appropriately monitored and controlled, and ensure formal reviews of credit limits align with the Branch's internal policies.

The Successful Applicant

Financial Services
  • Fluent in Mandarin (Speaking/Reading/Writing)
  • Educated to degree level and/or holding a relevant professional qualification.
  • Extensive experience in analyzing credit risks across a range of clients, with a strong focus on large corporates and financial institutions, particularly in UK/Western European markets. Experience in Project Finance or Trade Finance is preferred.
  • A strong understanding of a variety of wholesale lending products.
  • Basic knowledge of market risks and operational risks is an advantage.
  • Strong teamwork skills, particularly the ability to collaborate closely with business areas while maintaining independence.
