About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate SEN Tutor to support a Year 10 pupil with Special Educational Needs. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students who need tailored learning approaches, particularly in the Key Stage 4 curriculum.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate SEN Tutor to support a Year 10 pupil with Special Educational Needs. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students who need tailored learning approaches, particularly in the Key Stage 4 curriculum.
As a SEN tutor, you will help the pupil build confidence, develop academic skills, and manage learning challenges in a supportive and encouraging environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one tutoring sessions for a Year 10 pupil, focusing on a range of different subjects that require extra support.
- Adapt teaching methods and resources to suit the pupil’s individual learning needs and abilities.
- Monitor progress and provide constructive feedback to both the pupil and their family using our bespoke platform
- Develop and implement strategies for behavior management and emotional support where necessary.
- Collaborate with other professionals
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with students with Special Educational Needs, particularly in secondary education.
- Strong understanding of the Year 10 curriculum, with knowledge of the GCSEs in relevant subjects.
- Ability to create a positive, engaging learning environment.
- Qualifications in education or SEN (e.g., SEN teaching assistant qualification, PGCE, or equivalent) are preferred but not required.
Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge of specific learning difficulties and strategies to support these needs.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the pupil's changing needs
