- Working closely with our Payment Schemes Lead, you’ll be managing commercial and contract negotiations, leading on strategic bank–wide partnerships with key stakeholders
- You’ll be leading your team to proactively manage day-to-day relationships with our partners and meet agreed objectives, ensuring maximum value from fund allocation and compliance with contractual and regulatory obligations
- This is a vastly visible and engaging role in which you’ll be representing the bank at the specified committees and industry working groups as well as interpreting, promoting, and influencing scheme changes for the benefit of our strategic business objectives
What you'll do
As our Payment Schemes & Partnerships Manager, you’ll be managing the bank-wide engagement plan, governance, and relationship with Visa and other strategic partners, leading multidisciplinary teams and forums to ensure our interests are presented and considered in all relevant matters.
You’ll be supporting the Head of Payment Schemes & Partnerships on and contract negotiations with key strategic partners. As such, you’ll ensure optimal commercial benefit as well as ensuring partners are proactive in offering our favoured nation status on the use of products and propositions for adoption.
As well as this, you’ll be accountable for:
- Optimising Interchange income and scheme fees for specified partners
- Developing strong business relationships with senior bank-wide stakeholders and managing the provision of high-quality briefings for executive representatives on payment scheme boards and committees
- Providing an internal centre of excellence for all strategic payment scheme partnerships
- Identifying and managing associated risks in accordance with our internal governance, controls, and customer duty
The skills you'll need
We’re looking for someone highly influential with the ability to set out and execute negotiations of significant commercial contracts. You’ll have strong leadership capabilities to direct multidisciplinary teams, and you’ll have extensive experience in the banking industry, and in a regulatory and commercial environment.
We’re also looking for:
- Extensive experience in payments and schemes, understanding of the competitive dynamics and trends that influence customer behaviour and our commercial imperatives
- Experience in planning, organising, and strategic programme management
- The ability to analyse information and understand the implications in a wider business setting
- Knowledge of relevant legal policies, regulations, and risk management
- The ability to use knowledge and creativity to steer the direction and development of a product range
