The roles
The role of the Board is to set the broad strategic framework and oversee the management of our affairs. This includes approving the overall budget and major capital projects and ensuring that the CIPD fulfils its charitable purpose and strategic objectives.
We are seeking to appoint three trustees to our Board to succeed members whose terms of office are coming to end in January and April 2025. One of the positions opening up in January would have a particular focus on membership, professional development and qualifications and would chair our new Professional Standards Committee.
What you will be doing- Attending Board meetings and meetings of subcommittees or groups you serve on.
- Engaging with the leadership team and wider membership via branch events, Council, our AGM etc.
- A good level of understanding of HR gained in any sector
- To be fully supportive of our purpose, mission and values
- To be eligible to serve on the Board
- To be available to serve for three years
- To be able to devote time to Institute affairs during your period in office
We are also seeking additional skills/experience for the three distinct roles:
- Academics and/or qualifications
- Property, finance and pensions
- Commercial, technology and digital marketing
