Kratos Defense Solutions’ FTT UK office has the requirement for a Quality Management and Assurance Engineer to support our growing office. The Quality Management side of the role will involve the day-to-day running of the Quality Management System which is jointly shared with our office in Wildau (near Berlin), Germany.
The Quality Assurance side of the role reaches across the business from engineering to manufacturing. The QA role will range from internal audit review of engineering processes and deliverables to receipt and inspection of incoming hardware to ensure parts and their associated paperwork are correct.
The individual will also raise non-conformance reports, as necessary. There will also be a smaller but just as important Health and Safety element to the role.

Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain Quality Management Systems (QMS) to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Conduct regular audits of internal processes, procedures, and documentation to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Key individual to prepare for external audits and interface with the auditor.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement Corrective Preventive Action Reports (CPARs) to address non-conformities and improve quality processes.
- Provide guidance and support to teams across the organization on quality-related issues, including best practices, standards, and regulations.
- Analyse quality data and metrics to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and areas of risk.
- Participate in the design and implementation of new processes, ensuring that quality considerations are integrated from the outset.
- Lead or contribute to quality-related projects, initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts for the UK office and contribute to division level processes.
- Liaise with the German office on matters of Quality, jointly improving the QMS.
- Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging best practices in quality management.
- Receive hardware and create Product Data-packs to ensure the associated paperwork is complete and accurate.
- Raise non-conformance reports for hardware and own the responsibility of the sign-off from the relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure assembly equipment is calibrated and fit to use.
- Maintain shipping and receiving records. Should the candidate have an interest/experience in imports/exports this can be included in the role.
- Manage the approved supplier list – ensuring NDA’s and ISO Certifications are up to date.
- Manage the COSHH database and ensure all chemicals are fit for use.
- On occasion, to balance the phases of the programme, support of the manufacturing operations group may be required.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality management, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in a quality engineering or related role.
- Understanding of quality management systems (ISO 9001, AS9100 etc.) and regulatory requirements.
- Background in process improvement methodologies, and auditing techniques.
- Experience conducting internal and external audits and managing audit programs.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and thoroughness.
- A highly pragmatic individual open to changing process if it is sensible to the business
- Comfortable challenging the status quo to encourage continuous improvement
- Ability to understand the associated paperwork with delivered hardware (material Co C, inspection reports, NDT reports, etc.)
