Working alongside the Digital Catapult team in Northern Ireland we currently have a vacancy for a Project Manager on a fixed term basis until December 2026 to manage a large strategic project, Smart Nano NI. The project focuses on the development of game-changing advance prototyping and smart manufacturing methods to deliver new technologies.

As a Project Manager you will work closely with colleagues across innovation practice, business development, product, technology, marketing and finance.

In addition you may also support the delivery of larger projects, being responsible for delivering specific work packages, phases or other distinct pieces of work.

WHAT YOU’LL DO (Duties)
  • Ensure that tasks on the project are clearly defined and agreed with internal and external stakeholders & delivered on agreed timescale, budget and impact using our established processes, procedures, reporting, audit trails, best practice etc.
  • Initiate and maintain all project artefacts such as budgets, risks and issues, dependencies, milestones, project plans including timelines and resourcing estimates in order to manage the projects to time, cost and quality.
  • Report progress on assigned projects, work packages or phases of projects to the Head of the Projects Portfolio. This will be done through regular status updates, stand-up meetings, update sessions and other communication activities.
  • Supporting and ensuring the delivery of earned income and project profitability where relevant, as well as documenting and tracking of KPIs and the Benefits realisation framework, supporting the impact and success of assigned projects.
  • Manage identified risks and help to resolve issues related to the delivery of the assigned projects.
  • Work closely with our Operational Project Management Office (OPMO) to understand and utilise our governance processes.

Requirements

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR (Experience)
  • Hands-on project management experience in a technical setting, either agile or waterfall projects.
  • Good understanding of the project life cycle and the key foundations of project management, i.e., the time, cost and quality elements.
  • Strong organisational, communication and writing skills.
  • Experience of managing large projects.
  • Can-do-attitude and a positive mind on how to manage challenging situations.
  • Self-confident, adaptable to ambiguity, change and evolving priorities.
  • Comfortable with delivering projects in a fast-paced environment.
