2nd Line Technical Support Engineer

Due to ongoing business growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a 2nd line technical support engineer to join an industry leading integrated technology provider based in Halesowen, Birmingham.This person will join an existing technical services team delivering tailored, bespoke & sometimes complex solutions into clients.

The Role
The ideal candidate will work within a lively service desk environment acting as an escalation point to our first line service desk team. Using our support desk system, remote monitoring tools and remote support tools the candidate will be expected to resolve any technical tasks required by the organisation.
The successful candidate must be able to work in a fast paced service environment as part of a compact team, someone with great interpersonal skills with a problem solving mind and a keen interest in helping people.The ideal candidate must be able to:-
- Have great organisation skills working alongside EBC Group staff
- Complete 1st/ 2nd line triage for escalation into EBC Group 3rd Line support
- Be a great communicator both via email/phone.
- Active Directory and Azure AD
- Microsoft Windows Server
- Office 365 Exchange online and Exchange Server
- Remote Desktop Solutions (RDS/Citrix/Azure Virtual Desktop)
- Desktop OS & Office Applications
- Autopilot and Intune (desirable)
- Network Routing & Protocols (LAN/WAN)
- Working Firewall experience
- Web Filtering and Mail protection systems
- Anti-virus Solutions
- Backup and DR Solutions (Image based solutions)
- Virtualisation platforms (VMware/Hyper V)
- Microsoft Azure
- Storage Solutions
- Switching & Routing
- Work as part of a team and contribute to knowledge sharing solutions.
- Act as a mentor and coach to junior members of the team.
- Have an understanding of ITIL best practices
- Contribute towards technical documentation.
- Identify areas of improvement, both within customes environments but also internally
- Have great organisation skills
- Work within a team.
- Be a great communicator both via email/phone and face to face
Pay: From £26,000.00 per year
