Train Cleaning Operative
Location: York
Rates :- £13.48p/hHours - 8pm-4am Monday to Friday 4 on 4 off shift pattern

Our client is a leading organisation in the transportation sector, committed to providing a clean and safe environment for passengers. They are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join their team as Train Cleaners, ensuring that rolling stock is maintained to the highest standards.

Responsibilities include:
- Cleaning the interior and exterior of train carriages
- Completing defined and described tasks and routine related work.
- Receiving general direction from a supervisor.
- Using tools and power equipment for cleaning purposes
- Keeping equipment, indoor and outdoor industrial and office sites in a clean and operating condition.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Undertaking the cleaning of allocated rolling stock with minimal supervision to meet the requirements of the production plan, while complying with all local instructions and specifications.
- Undertaking external cleaning of the train using manual methods.
- Cleaning specific driveline systems by means of brushing or compressed air.
- Performing fuelling, tanking, and Controlled Emission Toilet (CET) operation as required.
- Assisting other team members where appropriate.
- Reporting all defects to the Supervisor.
- Conducting underframe cleaning specific to the site.
- Undertaking any other duties as required.
Knowledge & Experience:
- Knowledge of Health and Safety, including Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH), and manual handling.
- Good communication skills, both oral and written.
- Knowledge of cleaning equipment and relevant chemicals.
