Teaching Assistant
(Youth Work/Young Offenders Background)Location: Wandsworth, South London
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (8:30 AM - 4:00 PM)
Contract Type: Long-term, full-time
Salary: £90-£100 per day
About the Teaching Assistant Role:
We are looking for dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistants to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). This role is ideal for individuals with experience in youth work, young offenders services, or similar roles where you have worked with young people facing various challenges.
Teaching Assistant - Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, helping them access the curriculum and engage in learningAssist the class teacher with planning and delivering tailored lessons for pupils with a range of needs, including Autism, ADHD, and emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD)
Promote positive behaviour and emotional resilience, drawing on your experience with challenging behaviours
Build strong, supportive relationships with students, acting as a positive role model
Support pupils’ social, emotional, and personal development, creating a safe and inclusive learning environment
About You:
Experience working with young people from a youth work, young offenders, or similar background is essentialA strong, empathetic approach to managing challenging behaviour
Ability to work full-time (Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM)
A passion for helping young people overcome barriers to learning and succeed
Patience, resilience, and the ability to adapt to different situations
