We have an exciting vacancy for a Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic community mental health team working across Medway and Swale HTT.

This post would be suitable for both a newly qualified occupational therapist or someone with some experience looking to expand their knowledge and experience within a community mental health setting. You will have a strong interest in developing skills in working with service users who have complex mental health needs.

We are looking for a practitioner with good communication and liaison skills who is forward-thinking and enthusiastic about innovative ways of working.

All community teams across Kent are looking to deliver a new care pathway approach, where service users will be offered a menu of interventions. These interventions would be offered by various professionals, but Occupational Therapists will play a key part in this process.

To assist in identifying, developing, and providing the Occupational Therapy contribution within the multi-disciplinary service in accordance with the needs of service users and the requirements of the service.

To assess, plan, deliver, and evaluate therapeutic interventions for identified service users. To manage a defined caseload of service users with occupational needs using evidence-based, service user-centred, hope and recovery, health promotion, and relapse prevention orientated principles and practice.
