MIG Welder (Steel Fixer)

Mike Collins Recruitment are currently recruiting for MIG Welders to join our busy client based in Coseley.

Making quality steel products according to steel fabrication drawings and making accurate jigs and fixtures using a MIG Welder and handheld power tools.

Key Tasks:

To interpret technical drawings and follow written instructions
To use a wide range of materials including rebar
To work to tight tolerances of up to 5mm
To prepare and set up the necessary tools and equipment for welding jobs
To arrange parts for the welding process, liaising with the Works Supervisor
To MIG weld bars based on specifications and/or drawings
To keep count of finished product and prepare product for shipment
To manually lift and stack final products, and use the overhead crane to assist with lifting and stacking heavy items
To refer to/read work related documentation such as work orders, technical drawings etc.
To operate other machines within the Workshop when requested, in order to support the needs of the business

MIG welding experience is essential and Fabrication experience would be an advantage.
Ideally would have OHC licence or experience operating OHC.
You must have the ability to interpret technical and engineering drawings.
You should have good attention to detail.
This is a fast paced working environment and involves heavy lifting when required so you must be able to perform physically demanding work and able to lift heavy items.

Must be able to work well in a team or on your own.

Working hours are 7.30 am to 4.15 pm Monday to Thursday and 7.30 am to 12.00 pm Friday.

Rate of pay: £13.71ph plus a weekly attendance bonus of £1.50ph for working a full week.

This is a temp to perm position for the right candidates
