Overview:

Seeking competent, professional and customer-focused Security Officers to manage risk within the arena of Site Security around the clock, every day. The role will implicitly link to safety of the personnel, the operations & the site(s). It will require a broad knowledge of operational elements such as staff, contractors, process and procedures, Facilities / Maintenance management and arrangements with tenants of the site too.
With such diversity of role, we are seeking to build a dynamic, customer focused, technically competent in-house team where there is potential to develop your career. The post holders need not have a background in Security, but must be willing to undertake courses to be appropriately Licensed through the Security Industry Authority (SIA) in the UK.

What is required is an awareness of items that affect Security and Safety, moreover a demonstrable ability to communicate effectively, manage competing priorities while remaining calm under pressure and to be able to deliver excellent customer service under any circumstances presented.

Scheduled anticipated to be 4 days on/4 days off pattern with a mixture of days and nights working 12 hour shifts.*

Responsibilities:

  • Working as part of a team, you must be available to work a shift pattern which covers 24 hours / 7 days per week / 365 days per year. This will include night and weekend duties as well as public holidays
  • You will serve as the first point of contact for anyone entering or attempting to enter the site. You must be knowledgeable of the site operations and be able to follow existing instructions to manage those expected to attend site(s) as well as those who may not be
  • Facilitate permitted access / egress to the site and specified areas through engagement with personnel and the correct use of Access Control Systems while supporting departments such as Facilities / Maintenance with secure key management
  • Maintain surveillance of the site by use of physical patrols as well as proactive and reactive use of a CCTV System, identifying and escalating observations or risks according to existing process and respond to emergencies or issues raised as required
  • Facilitate the recording of incidents or observations in writing and follow appropriate instructions for escalation, communicating both urgent and routine items accordingly, to appropriate stakeholders. Supporting any investigatory actions where required
  • Monitoring site / building management systems and their associated alarms or alerts ensuring that the correct procedures are followed in a timely manner for both testing and live activations of them
  • Take a role in review and recommendations for continuous improvement of responsibilities, processes and procedures as well as holding responsibility for the presentation of the Security and reception area, inclusive of the equipment used by the team

Qualifications:

  • 0 to 3 years experience in Security or Safety or Customer Services related roles required, Experience of working within Security or Safety preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with an ability to work in the English language at this level, Other European language skills are a bonus
  • Highly Proficient with using of Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Teams, Outlook, Excel and willing to learn to use other technologies linked to Security and Safety
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks / demands, often under time constraints
  • Effectively work with peers, leadership, and stakeholders in a productive, collaborative fashion as part of a team
  • Positive attitude and a proactive mindset: Taking accountability, responsibility and ownership of your environment and the tasks allocated on behalf of the organisation
  • Either already holds, or willing to train and retain SIA licenses as both ‘DS’ (Door Supervisor), CCTV Management and First Aid at work – Responding competently to situations that demand the use of these skills
  • Presentable & Customer Facing – willing to wear and care for your allocated uniform, to comply with appearance standards and also to ensure the highest standards of professionalism at all times
  • Ability to stand / walk for extended period of time.
  • Ability to read and interpret materials, verbally communicate, see and hear clearly with assistance or unaided is required.
