The Opportunity:

The Defence and Security Equipment International DSEI connects governments, national armed forces, industry thought leaders and the entire defence & security supply chain on a global scale. With a range of valuable opportunities for networking, a platform for business, access to relevant content & live-action demonstrations, the DSEI community can strengthen relationships, share knowledge and engage in the latest capabilities across the exhibition’s Aerospace, Land, Naval, Security & Joint Zones.

DSEI Japan is the only large-scale fully integrated defence event that has ever taken place in Japan. It is where the global defence industry meets the Japanese defence community, supporting the sourcing of the latest equipment and systems, developing international relationships and generating new business opportunities and partnerships between Japan and the world.

We are looking for a talented Account Manager with strong sales experience to sell and account manage across DSEI and DSEI Japan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and maintaining relationships with key clients and stakeholders in the defence sector, particularly the Land/Army sector.
  • Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities to expand the exhibition’s reach and revenue.
  • Understanding client needs and providing tailored solutions to meet their requirements including selling sponsorship to all customers.
  • Collaborating with the sales, marketing, content, security, and operations teams to ensure successful planning and execution of all customers in your area.
  • Monitoring industry trends and competitor activities to stay ahead in the market.
  • Providing post-event feedback and analysis to continuously improve future editions of these events.
  • Representing the exhibition at industry events, conferences, and meetings to promote its offerings.
  • Managing budgets and forecasts to achieve financial targets as appropriate.
  • Ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards related to Clarions Defence exhibitions.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills & Behaviours:

  • Proven experience as a Sales/Account Manager providing solutions based on customer needs.
  • Strong understanding or interest in the Defence sector and the challenges within this industry.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with aptitude in building relationships with professionals of all organisational levels.
  • Proven track record of utilizing sales strategies and techniques to achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • Experience managing contracts, negotiations and agreements with clients’ needs.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly to events around the UK and overseas.
  • Able to problem-solve and negotiate.
