Role: Teacher – Computer Science and Vocational Business (Full-Time)

Location: The Bedford Sixth Form

Salary/Benefits: Salary from £31,930 per annum (Pro-Rata) DOE and Qualifications, Teachers’ pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

Hours/Weeks: 37hrs per week (1.0 FTE)

Contract Type: Permanent - Full Time

About the role:

As a Teacher in Computer Science and Vocational Business, you play an important role in the success of our students through helping them to develop their skills and reach their maximum potential through the delivery of courses and contributing to the development of Sixth Form curriculum and student experience.

About you:

  • Hold a degree in a relevant subject
  • Hold a certificate in Education or equivalent in line with the Statutory Instrument
  • Be able to demonstrate current experience of teaching A-Level and/or Vocational Business & A-Level Computer Science
  • Have experience of teaching in a Sixth Form or FE College environment with students 16 – 18 year olds
  • Be able to demonstrable record of success in teaching
  • Have up to date knowledge of subject area, syllabus, and teaching methods
  • Have experience of using ILT to enhance teaching and learning
  • Have experience of working effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Possess the ability to consistently provide high quality teaching and outstanding learning experience for all students
  • Possess the ability to promote a positive image of the Sixth Form internally and to the local community
  • Possess the ability to have a robust approach to work demands
  • Possess the ability to communicate effectively and confidently face to face, on the telephone and in writing
  • Possess the ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children, young people and vulnerable adults
  • Have a willingness to continuously to update skills and knowledge
  • Have a flexible approach to work and working times
  • Have a willingness to work at all locations where Bedford College provides a service
  • Have awareness of health and safety requirements relevant to the job
