Robert Half is pleased to be partnering with an acquisitive, fast growth organisation to recruit an Interim Financial Controller.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for a seasoned finance professional to oversee the financial management and planning of the UK business. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in strategic finance, strong analytical skills, and the ability to contribute to business growth while maintaining financial stability.A strong technical accounting background and experience within an SME or private equity environment, would be highly advantageous.
Location: Near Horsham, West SussexSalary: Up to £400 per day (dependent on experience)
Reporting to: Chief Finance Officer
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Management & Reporting:
- Oversee accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual accounts.
- Ensure compliance with UK accounting standards, tax regulations, and legal requirements.
- Manage cash flow, budgets, forecasts, and KPIs.
- Operational Finance Oversight:
- Lead and manage the finance team to ensure efficient financial operations.
- Implement and maintain robust financial controls and systems.
- Oversee payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and treasury functions.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Present financial updates to the board and key stakeholders.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies.
- Build strong relationships across internal teams and external partners.
- Business Partnering:
- Provide financial guidance and support to department heads.
- Contribute to strategic initiatives such as mergers, acquisitions, and funding strategies.
What We're Looking For:
- A professional finance qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) is essential.
- Significant experience in a senior finance leadership role within the UK.
- Strong technical accounting expertise, with knowledge of UK financial regulations, taxation, and compliance requirements.
- Preferable background in facilities management or similar industries, ideally within an SME or private equity environment.
- Proven experience in strategic financial planning, budgeting, and reporting.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage teams effectively.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to present complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced financial software tools.
