UE06: £33,882 - £39,105 (per annum, with a further salary uplift scheduled for March 2025; starting salary is normally offered at the entry point of the grade, but may be reviewed subject to candidate experience and related factors).

CAHSS / Scottish Graduate School of Social Science - however, we are open to considering flexible working patterns. We are currently using hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.

SGSSS is hosted by the University of Edinburgh, and therefore, you will be employed by this university.

Fixed Term Contract - 12 Months.

Research Impact and Partnerships Coordinator (fixed term maternity cover), Scottish Graduate School of Social Science

The Scottish Graduate School of Social Science (SGSSS) seeks to appoint a Research Impact and Partnerships Coordinator for a fixed term maternity cover. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with colleagues on the delivery and continuous improvement of our flagship impact and knowledge exchange activities, training and events.

Key responsibilities include: coordinating and delivering our internship programme, coordinating and delivering the ESRC Postdoctoral Fellowship competition, and supporting delivery of the mentoring programme. The role holder also supports organisation of impact training and our flagship training events throughout the academic year.

SGSSS is the largest funder and trainer of social science PhD researchers in Scotland. We work with 16 partner universities across Scotland and non-academic partners including Skills Development Scotland, the Scottish Government, Royal Society of Edinburgh, Scottish Funding Council, and many private and third sector organisations.

The role is on a fixed term basis for 12 months.

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Demonstrable experience in successful event planning and coordination, including responsibility for budget oversight.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – able to work in a team and adopt a flexible and consultative approach.
  • Able to diplomatically manage relations with a variety of stakeholders both academic and non-academic and including those senior to the post holder.
  • An excellent communicator – well developed oral skills and an ability to write clear and concise analytical reports and take accurate minutes at governance meetings.
  • Excellent digital skills and proven working knowledge of MS Office as well as knowledge of using application management tools.
