An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an ITSM Platform Developer to work in conjunction with the IT Operations Team as we develop our new ITSM Platform that has recently gone live.

The post-holder will contribute to the in-house team that provides software & systems development and maintenance services of the IT Service Management Toolset (Ivanti Neurons for ITSM & ITAM) and is a great opportunity to develop your skills in scripting, expression building and application management.

Candidates must have demonstrable experience of ITIL, Agile and DevOps processes along with experience of IT support.

Main duties of the job
  • Management of all platform environments to ensure operational stability of the Platform for its user base.
  • Transform technical and stakeholder requirements into DevOps processes by compiling user stories and transforming these into platform feature releases.
  • Identify and resolve platform issues.
  • Develop and manage integrations with the ITSM platform to ensure automated processes function as expected.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of application dependencies, workflows, and processes surrounding the IT Service Management platform.

Supporting over 21,000 users across 5 hospitals and multiple sites across the region, the department operates within a Service Management Framework (ITIL) and has several mature service management processes in place which operate across the Departmental structure.

A Continual Service Improvement Programme is in place which aims to develop other ITIL processes and improve existing ones to ensure that the service delivered meets the business requirements of the Trust.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • GCSE English and Mathematics Grade A-C (or Equivalent qualification)
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant IT-related field and/or significant experience in two of: o Computer Science o IT Service Management o System Design o Implementation of Large IT Projects o IT Project Management o Service Desk Management
  • ITIL v3 Foundation or willingness to take
  • Ivanti Neurons for ITSM & ITAM Admin qualifications or willingness to take
Desirable criteria
  • Further ITIL Qualifications
  • Microsoft Database Certification or equivalent or willingness to take.
  • PRINCE2 Agile® Foundation or willingness to take

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Demonstratable experience of working in IT Support and IT Customer Services Environment including work placement as part of a period of study
  • Experience of software design & development tools and technologies
  • Good working knowledge and skills in using SharePoint, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Project
  • Experience working in DevOps agile environment to manage workloads.
  • Experience managing multiple application environments.
  • Experience working with internal and external stakeholders to transform their requirements into technical solutions.
  • Experience with performing multiple levels of system test (Producing test scripts, UAT testing, Regression Testing)
Desirable criteria
  • At least fundamental knowledge of an administrative scripting language (PowerShell, VBScript, Perl, HTML, JavaScript etc.)
  • Experience of service management platform development.
  • Experience of working with ITIL and Service Management Processes
  • Experience of web design and development.
  • Experience with supporting IT infrastructure, Server management and troubleshooting.
