My client in Blaenavon is currently in need of a design engineer due to continual growth.
My client is a leading manufacturer of materials handling equipment (OEM) specialising in dry bulk solids material and powders handling/processing. With a strong global presence, they are renowned for delivering high-quality equipment to a wide range of industries, serving prestigious companies across sectors such as petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, food, and aggregates sectors.
Requirements:

Candidate will have a mechanical engineering qualification or demonstrable experience. They will have a sound knowledge of fabricating, welding, and machining processes along with a good understanding of materials handling equipment, from technical and manufacturing aspects, (screw conveyors, mixers, belt conveying, metering feeders, discharging aids)

Candidates are required to have excellent 2D (essential) & 3D (desirable) draughting skills whilst the ability to interpret P&ID drawings would be advantageous.

The duties of the role are:
  • Interpreting contract documentation and specifications ensuring that equipment is designed and manufactured in accordance with industry regulations and project specifications
  • Taking part in production/project review meetings to ensure timescales are adhered to
  • Producing a high standard of 2D general arrangements and layout drawings for manufacture
  • Producing a high standard of 2D detailed drawings to enable engineering tradespersons to manufacture machined and fabricated parts
  • Producing sheet/plate pattern development profiles for laser cutting and fabricating
  • Liaising with sales, project teams and management
  • Creating parts lists, bills of materials and identifying materials and proprietary items to be purchased for manufacture to ensure timely arrival of required materials
  • Meeting and improving costs where applicable and feasible using recognised cost analysis methods
  • Developing new innovative products to supplement the existing product range
