Semi-Senior Accountant
Location: Poole
Job Type: Full-time (Part-time applications considered)
Working Hours: 9:00 am - 5:30 pm, Monday to Friday (flexibility for the right candidate)
Reports To: Portfolio Manager
About the Role:
Our client, a modern and growing accountancy firm, is seeking a motivated Semi-Senior Accountant to join their team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to their expanding business and deliver high-quality service to clients.You'll work closely with the portfolio manager, with a clear path to advance your career through ongoing training and development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Portfolio Management:
- Assist in managing a portfolio of clients, reporting directly to the portfolio manager.
- Receive training and development to work towards managing your own client portfolio.
- Accounts and Tax:
- Prepare and review statutory accounts and corporation tax returns.
- Prepare and review personal tax returns.
- Review VAT returns and client records for accuracy and compliance.
- Client Communication:
- Handle inbound queries from clients, providing excellent service and timely solutions.
About You:
The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to deliver outstanding service and grow within the firm. Our client is looking for the following qualifications and skills:
- At least two years of experience in an accounting firm or similar role.
- AAT qualified or currently studying towards ACCA/ACA.
- Familiarity with FreeAgent and/or Xero software (advantageous but not essential).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in your work.
- Commercial awareness and an understanding of the impact of your role on the business.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to take on new challenges.
