Clinical Tutor Pharmacist | Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust
We are seeking a dedicated, dynamic and enthusiastic pharmacist, with a passion for education and training to join our team. As a Clinical Tutor Pharmacist, you will play a vital role in contributing to the future pharmacy workforce by facilitating clinical placements for pharmacy undergraduate students from the University of Manchester.
This is an exciting time to be involved in pharmacist education and training due to the implementation of new GPhC standards for the initial education and training of pharmacists which has led to a redesign of undergraduate MPharm degree.
In this post you will not only support the development of undergraduate pharmacists but continue to develop your clinical skills by contributing to the clinical pharmacy services within the hospital.
You must be a qualified pharmacist registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) and have completed a post-graduate clinical diploma. You should hold (or be willing to complete) a teaching qualification or have significant previous teaching and clinical experience.
You will receive a comprehensive induction, regular 1:1's and annual appraisals to develop knowledge and skills where appropriate.
You will be working with the lead clinical tutor to:
- Provide high quality clinical pharmacy placements to all years across the MPharm programme at the University of Manchester.
- Assess students during their placements and provide tailored feedback.
- Collaborate with the wider clinical tutor team and staff at the university to review and update the MPharm curriculum to enhance future clinical placements.
You will also:
- Work in partnership with the Director of Pharmacy and all other pharmacists to ensure safe, effective, economical and timely pharmaceutical care for all patients receiving a pharmaceutical service from the department.
- Act at as line-manager, designated supervisor and/or diploma tutor as requested.
- Participate in the on-call, weekend and late rota as requested.
- Complete audits as requested.
