Contract Details: Temporary, full-time, 12 months
Salary: £47,000 - £54,000 per annum
About Our Client:
Our client, a City Council has a vacancy in the buildings and construction sector, is seeking two skilled Building Control Officers to join their team. As a vital member of their organisation, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with building regulations, conducting site inspections, and providing expert advice to architects, contractors, and duty holders.

Responsibilities:
- Review and assess deposited plans for compliance with Building Regulations
- Conduct site inspections to monitor and ensure compliance with regulations
- Prepare detailed written reports and letters
- Provide pre-application advice to architects, contractors, and duty holders
- Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve issues of non-compliance
- Utilise various Building Control IT systems and data management tools
- Maintain excellent communication and time management skills
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a dynamic team
- Conduct thorough site inspections and ensure adherence to safety protocols
- Stay up-to-date with regulatory changes and industry best practises
Essential (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):
- Experience in building control functions
- Thorough understanding of Building Regulations and their application
- Strong knowledge of building technology and construction practises
- Membership of recognised professional bodies such as MRICS, MCABE, or MCIOB
- Registered with the Building Safety Regulator as a class 2 Registered Building Inspector
Desirable (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):
- Familiarity with relevant technology such as Building Control IT systems
- Experience in conducting meetings and providing expert advice
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines
- Attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision
