Laboratory Team Leader Organics

The Organics team provides data for the regulatory and statutory analysis of waste and potable drinking water.

In this role, you will manage a small team of 4 Laboratory Analysts and coordinate resources including analytical instrumentation, materials, and laboratory infrastructure to analyse samples and report test results.

What you’ll be doing as a Laboratory Team Leader Organics
  • Use your excellent communication skills to manage all people aspects of a small team.
  • Use your knowledge in LC or GCMS to train and help the team troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • Use your knowledge and understanding of our regulatory requirements and ISO17025 DWTS and MCERTS standards in the management of the analytical methods.
  • Ensure compliance with the DWI ‘competent person’ guidance.
  • Maintain our excellent record on H+S performance and compliance.
Working hours: 36 hours per week.

Base Location: Spencer House, Reading.

What you should bring to the role
  • Have a degree level in science, though candidates with a solid background in analytical chemistry would be considered.
  • Have experience in running and maintaining LCMS, GCMS, or other analytical systems.
  • Possess a sense of drive and determination to learn new job responsibilities.
  • Value being part of a team.
  • Be a strong problem solver.
