Head of Finance
Reed Finance are exclusively supporting a successful and innovative manufacturing import/export business near Hook to recruit a new Head of Finance on an initial 12 months’ fixed-term basis.
This is an urgent appointment with an ideal start in 2-3 weeks, so candidates must be on short or little notice.
Reporting into the MD as No. 1 in Finance and managing a small team, this role offers the opportunity to evolve into a long-term Group FD position for a £20m+ turnover business with ambitious growth plans.
The successful candidate will have a track record of delivery in a fast-paced environment where leadership, business partnering and relationship building are key factors. You will be the key liaison with the PLC parent, which includes reporting and, as such, PLC experience is required for this role.
Travel (approx. once per month) to additional locations within the UK will be expected, in order to forge and maintain key relationships across the business.
Some key responsibilities include:
- Driving commercial awareness across the business and assist strategic decision making with insightful financial analysis
- Ultimate responsibility for the full month end closing process including preparation of monthly reporting pack and submission to Head Office in conjunction with Management Accountant
- Full responsibility for financial management across the business - management and group reporting, accounting, forecasting and planning, cash management and, ideally, funding expertise.
- Leading and improve the business planning cycle in the business - budgeting, quarterly forecasting etc. Ensure financial planning is fully integrated into business processes
- Managing and developing the team, providing leadership, guidance and challenge to drive improvement in both operational performance and engagement.
- Managing the audit relationship, deliverables and review of statutory accounts.
- Supporting and working closely with the MD in the strategic decisions and direction of the business as well as the overall monitoring of performance and growth
- Continually improve processes and efficiencies
Essential skills include:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with significant PQE, audit background preferred
- Experienced with Group level reporting within international organisations
- Skilled team manager who enjoys developing staff
- Excellent business partnering and interpersonal skills
- A down-to-earth personality and collaborative approach to work
Experience within a manufacturing or production setting will be highly advantageous but not compulsory.
Package offered is £85-100k doe, plus 20% bonus opportunity and a good benefits package. This is an office based role and parking is available onsite.
