Clinical Practice Development Occupational Therapist

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, motivated Occupational Therapist to work in a well-established, innovative team. The new Clinical Practice Development Lead role requires significant experience working in an acute hospital environment as an occupational therapist and passion for and experience of educating other occupational therapists.
As an experienced occupational therapist you would be responsible for facilitating the development of all new junior staff within the department. Supporting new staff to deliver high quality care to patients effectively and in a timely manner is the ultimate aim of the role.
Working closely with senior management and team leaders, you will identify areas to focus on and deliver training programmes on an ongoing basis. We currently offer rotations for the junior staff through a wide range of acute clinical areas which include Orthopaedics, Surgery and Oncology, Neurosciences, Major Trauma, Older Person's Care, Medical, Rheumatology, Hand Therapy and Pain and Stroke and Rehab.
Clinically based, you will work on the wards supporting new junior staff and provide tailored training and education to ensure a high quality Occupational therapy workforce continues. You will work collaboratively with Senior Management and Team Leads in contributing to the overall development of the Occupational Therapy department through training programmes, inductions, service development and research projects.You will have experience of supporting clinicians with improving performance and have a knowledge of different learning styles and needs.
You will ensure a safe, efficient and effective delivery of occupational therapy and work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary and multi-agency teams.
In addition you will liaise with the hospital’s clinical education team. You will be supervised by more senior members of the Occupational Therapy Team.
