Job overview
We are seeking an experienced project manager to support the Digital Strategy and associated annual plan. This role is pivotal in the success of the Trust’s project by providing the project teams expert advice on all aspects of project management.
We are looking for a motivated, leader with excellent communication skills and a passion for using technology to harness improvement. Previous experience in health projects is not essential, but an understanding of large scale digital change is vital.
Main duties of the job
Job Purpose- Lead the on-going development and implementation of UHBW’s strategic digital vision.
- Provide leadership for all digital service functions, optimising their contribution, productivity and professionalism to support the delivery of safe, high quality care.
- Manage and provide senior leadership for the digital programme and programme management function within Digital Services.
- Deliver on commitments undertaken as a result of internal (e.g. DHPB) and external programmes (e.g. GDE, Paperless 2020).
- Provide a world-class digital service throughout the Trust and applicable partner organizations across BNSSG
- Play an active role in creating opportunities to Transform Care across the Trust through the use of digital technologies and innovations
- Manage the relationship with local, national and international partners and suppliers to improve and maintain opportunities for collaborative working
- Take corporate responsibility as a senior manager of the Trust for the performance and management of the Trust as a whole.

Person specification
Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria- Extensive experience of the NHS or sector with comparable Digital requirements (population records, information and systems)
- Significant experience of successfully delivering complex large-scale digital projects
- In-depth experience of informatics and reporting to very senior management/executives
- Experience of working in a large and complex organisation
- Experience of working with different professional groups and with staff at different levels of seniority
- Experience of developing Business Cases and managing associated schemes
- Experience of developing board-level digital strategy (preferably in healthcare)
Skills
Essential criteria- Highly developed interpersonal and communications skills – both verbal and written – with a range of clinical and non-clinical staff
- Ability to understand clients’ needs and provide them with appropriate solutions and services
- Able to deliver presentations covering complex material to large groups of staff, using language understandable to non-technical staff, clinicians and other users
- Able to define major projects and build a programme using appropriate formal methods
Qualification and Training
Essential criteria- Educated to degree level or higher or equivalent relevant experience
- Further specialist qualification in relevant subjects, e.g. programme or project management, health informatics
- Relevant Post-Graduate qualification or equivalent relevant experience
- Professional membership of FedIP-affiliated organization, e.g. BCS, UKCIP, SOCITM
