The North East Ambulance Service (NHS) Trust would like to invite applications for an exciting opportunity based within the Emergency Preparedness Resilience and Response (EPRR) Department. Reporting to the EPRR Officer and working within the administrative support team, the EPRR Support Officer will be responsible for providing a range of administrative functions to the department The role will also provide support to the Business Continuity Manager.
The Support Officer team also provide support to training and exercising and HART (Hazardous Area Response Team) and so there will be opportunity to provide resilience to these workstreams in times of high demand or team absence. In the ever developing world of resilience, there will be opportunities to provide administrative support to ad-hoc projects and workstreams across the wider EPRR department.

Main duties of the job
Within this role, the successful candidate will provide administration support and assistance to the EPRR Department. This will include but is not limited to:
- Taking meeting minutes/meeting secretariat responsibilities
- Collating data for inclusion in reports
- Support in producing various monthly reports
- Updating and maintaining various records and systems
- Monitoring the status of business continuity incidents
- Support to winter planning workstreams
Organisation and co-ordination skills are key to this role as you will be required to manage a number of tasks and processes which are key within NEAS governance arrangements, conducting prioritisation of activities on a regular basis.

Person specification
Education, Qualifications and Training
Essential criteria- Minimum of 5 GCSE at grade ‘C’ including; English Language and Mathematics, (equivalents will be considered).
- Evidence of Continued Professional Development (CPD).
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Business Administration/Customer Service, (equivalents will be considered).
- UKHSA Major Incident Loggist course or equivalent.
- Department of Health & Social Care (DoHSC) Security Clearance to Secret / Classified.
Key Skills, Knowledge and Aptitude
Essential criteria- Significant relevant recent experience of providing a range of effective routine and non-routine administrative support services.
- Excellent time management skills and significant knowledge and experience to be able to prioritise workloads and work to tight deadlines and meet defined and agreed objectives.
- Excellent working knowledge of using Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint software packages or similar systems.
- Displays high levels of attention to detail.
- Ability to work autonomously without direct supervision, to prioritise effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate to individuals and groups at all levels, both written and verbal.
- Knowledge of working within the emergency services/ armed forces or experience of dealing with such agencies as stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of Government Protective Marking Scheme and handling material of a sensitive nature.
- Significant previous experience of providing and effective administrative support service to managers at a senior level.
Experience
Essential criteria- Proven record of maintaining confidentiality and working with sensitive data.
- Previous experience of creating reports and using various I.T. software packages.
- Experience at communicating with external organisations.
- Experience of responding to situations which may be tense/emotive.
- Proven ability of working under varying degrees of pressure.

- Experience of providing administrative support during significant events or pressured situations.
