Job overview
The post holder will assist the ward manager in providing day to day management and supervision of a team of registered and unregistered staff on Ward 11 Princess of Wales Hospital which is currently based at Ward 18 in Royal Glamorgan Hospital, while assisting with pre and postoperative patient flow to and from theatre and the ward.
To contribute to the provision of health care to the people of Cwm Taf with continuing responsibility for the assessment of care needs and the delivery of service.
To be responsible and provide effective leadership for a team of staff providing a high quality service within the resources available within a defined area.

Main duties of the job
We currently have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated, experienced RN to join our team in a Band 6 managerial position on Ward 18 in Royal Glamorgan Hospital to cover maternity leave. Ward 18 is a 18 bedded female surgical ward that also accommodates elective Gynaecology cases.
The role will involve assisting with preoperative preparation of patients, receiving patients post surgery, acting as co-ordinator on the ward and working alongside the ward manager to maintain standards and safety on the ward.
The ideal candidate must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a flexible approach to work. Good organisation and commitment to delivering high standards of patient focused care is an essential requirement.
You will be a vital part of the team, providing support to both the staff and Ward Manager. A demonstration of effective leadership skills is key and you will be integral to the governance agenda. In return, you will be supported by a dedicated and passionate team and in your own professional development.
