Main Purpose of the Job

To act as a Finance Business Partner with a focus on supporting the Commercial team, providing reporting and information on funds, sales, and gross profit performance by client, by sector, and by product category.

Main Responsibilities
  • Produce reporting using Power BI through development of business knowledge and identifying where financial insights can add value
  • Provide analysis of sales and gross profit, average spend per client, and product types purchased by client
  • Provide analysis of voucher sales, expiries, and cancellations, ensuring appropriate accounting treatment, including ageing analysis
  • Support the Commercial team by providing information to help effectively manage the client lifecycle, including identifying clients with no/low balances, non-spending clients, clients with expiring vouchers
  • Supporting the development of a sales funnel process using the Hubspot CRM system
  • Present information in a variety of ways to suit the target audience, ensuring it is accurate and accessible
  • Ensure the Commercial team understand performance against agreed budgets and targets
  • Prepare, automate, and review payment schedules and cancellations
  • Prepare audit working papers as appropriate and liaise with auditors on site
  • Manage and deal with queries from suppliers, clients, and colleagues on a timely basis
  • Ad hoc support to the Financial Controller, as required
Person Specification

  • Self-starter with the creativity to generate ideas for reporting and process improvements
  • Demonstrable ability to multi-task to deliver according to identified business priorities
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, and a track record of embracing change and innovating to improve processes and ways of working
  • Sound understanding of the financial flows in a business
  • Ability to understand data flows in a process to be able to identify data management risks and controls
  • Demonstrable ability to learn new technology for the benefit of the business
  • An effective communicator with excellent written and verbal presentation skills
Qualifications and Experience
Essential
  • Part qualified accountant or finalist
  • Experience of working in a similar role
  • Well-developed Microsoft Office skills, with advanced excel skills including a good understanding of VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables
  • Demonstrable attention to detail
Desirable
  • Extensive experience of cloud-based accounting software, preferably Microsoft Business Central
  • Experience of Power BI or similar reporting software

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to £35,000.00 per year
