[ref. e36167016] Castleford - Warehouse Supervisor/Team Leader
Warehouse Supervisor/Team Leader 35k-40k- 5 Towns Area
Due to a retirement and promotion within the team my client a major manufacturing force in the Wakefield area has instructed Reed to recruit a brand new Warehouse Manager to verse all warehousing & goods in/out departments.
You will be closely working with the head of operations as well as the business owner to oversee the warehousing team.
The role has 2 direct reports and between 12-15 indirect reports.
Have you heard the phrase ‘if aint broke, don’t fix it’? Well that is true for this role. My client is NOT looking for someone to start changing everything overnight, the systems they have in place, whilst not perfect, serve the company well.So if you are one of those managers who insist on making changes for changes sake then this is not the role for you.
What else is my client looking for? Or not looking for!
If you’ve worked for pure logistics or freight or transport then unfortunately you’re details will not be viewed, you must be able to demonstrate managing a small team within a similar work environment.
Used to working your contracted hours, no more than that? Again no, my client is looking for someone that can offer a degree of flexibility when it comes to your working hours.
This role would best suit someone who is either at the early stages of management or you might be an experienced Supervisor/Team Leader looking to get that next step on your CV and relish the thought of being Warehouse Manager to a multi-million pound turnover business.
The business owner said “This is a hands-on role Jeremy, I’m not wanting someone to sit in an office all day!”
Another criteria that my client has given is that you must possess a current counterbalance licence, I did say that it was a hands-on role!
Here are some of your duties:
Key Responsibilities:
- Warehouse Operations Management
- Oversee daily warehouse activities including receiving, storing, and dispatching materials and finished goods.
- Ensure accurate stock control and inventory management using warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Coordinate with production, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure timely supply and delivery.
- Team Leadership
- Manage, train, and motivate warehouse staff to achieve performance targets.
- Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and training sessions.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
There’s a flavour of the role and I will go into greater detail with you once I call you after reviewing your CV.
So what are you waiting for? Apply now and if your CV looks of interest I’ll be straight on the phone.
