Organisation Design & Development Specialist

Our Organisation Design and Development (OD&D) team’s purpose is to help enable organisation effectiveness by providing expertise to shape and develop ways of working, behaviour, and culture.
In these varied roles you will act as an organisational design and development (OD&D) consultant to help leaders address organisational challenges. You will ensure the organisational and people impacts are considered and identify issues and opportunities.You will provide effective and innovative organisation and business design / development outputs and outcomes for transformation and improvement in close collaboration with our People Directorate colleagues in DVSA, benchmark activities across the Civil Service and external organisations.
You will provide OD&D expertise to support the DVSA strategic and business objectives, whilst delivering high quality customer and employee experience. This will involve influencing and shaping the business, bringing in new thinking and ideas to deliver DVSA purpose and visions, and collaborating with People Directorate colleagues.
As one of our OD&D Specialists, you will apply a systemic approach and application of behavioural science to help the organisation and its people to thrive. You will consider the design elements of the organisation, including structures, frameworks, systems, policies and metrics, and develop its culture, capability, values, behaviours, and relationships.
Your key duties and responsibilities will include.- Leading or supporting design and development activities in programmes and projects with organisation-wide people impact, looking at the organisational systems, interdependencies, and culture.
- Leading directorate or team design and development reviews to help overcome business challenges.
- Leading or contributing to DVSA wide initiatives and goals to help address organisational problems and issues.
- Being a Subject Matter Expert for Organisation Design and Development for DVSA, providing advice and expertise to enable organisational effectiveness and efficiency.
- Potential for future direct line management responsibilities.
