Finance Director - 12 month Contract - Stevenage

My exclusive client, based in Hertfordshire, is a market leading Building Services company.

The company is currently undergoing a period of positive growth and change to embrace innovative new services within expanding new market channels.

A high calibre Interim FD is sought to support these market developments - this is an initial fixed term 12 month contract with strong prospects to evolve into an excellent perm career opportunity (if desired) for the successful candidate who "makes their mark" in supporting this exciting business development strategy.

This will be a hybrid role in this flexible business structure/culture, largely remote but with attendance at occasional on-site meetings required.

To apply, you must be able to start by mid April latest and be able to commit to the full duration of this initial 12 month Contract period.

Key responsibilities/challenges will include:

  • Operate as a key member of the SMT to develop the Finance function and wider business infrastructure to facilitate the company's strategic goals.
  • To head up and develop a "best in class" Central Finance function.
  • To exploit the full benefits and functionality of the recently implemented Finance/ERP system.
  • To develop robust Reporting and insightful MI/KPI's to support Investment proposals and other key decision making processes.
  • Contribute proactively to commercial strategy in this fast paced "change" environment.
  • Working capital and cashflow management.
  • Supporting on future M&A activity if opportunities arise.
  • Key point of contact with senior external stakeholders including Auditors and Lenders.
  • Overall, to play a proactive key role as part of a high quality experienced Board to achieve the company's ambitious growth strategy.

Candidate profile:

  • A high calibre experienced FD - available to start this 12 month Interim role by mid April latest.
  • Building Services or wider Construction / Housebuilding sector experience would be an advantage, although not pre-requisite.
  • Strong management and systems development/implementation experience.
  • Previous transactional experience would be a further advantage.
  • Hands-on proactive approach allied to wider commercial/strategic vision.
  • Innovative mind-set and thrives in a fast-moving business environment.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels across the Organisation, including having the confidence and credibility to liaise effectively with senior level stakeholders, both internally and externally.

The package:

  • £150k salary - PAYE on company's payroll.
  • Potential for Bonus on meeting key objectives, payable on completion of this 12 month Contract.
  • 25 days + statutory hols.
