Associate Director, Business Development, M&A - Guildford
Proclinical is seeking an Associate Director for Business Development in M&A. In this role, you will focus on identifying and executing strategic business opportunities within the pharmaceutical sector, particularly in oncology. Your efforts will aim to enhance competitive positioning through mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, and collaborations.
Responsibilities:
- Present acquisition targets for approval and lead the team in assessing and acquiring targets.
- Develop and implement business development and M&A strategies aligned with long-term goals.
- Conduct market analysis to identify trends and growth opportunities.
- Identify and evaluate potential targets for mergers, acquisitions, and partnerships.
- Maintain a pipeline of opportunities through networking and research.
- Lead due diligence efforts, including financial, operational, and legal assessments.
- Coordinate evaluations of target companies with internal and external experts.
- Develop and negotiate term sheets, agreements, and contracts.
- Represent the company at industry events.
- Conduct financial modeling and valuation analyses.
- Prepare business cases and presentations for senior management review.
Key Skills and Requirements:
- Degree in life sciences or pharmacy.
- Experience in commercial assessment, business development, M&A, or related roles in pharmaceuticals or biotechnology.
- Proven negotiation skills and experience managing deal processes.
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
- Knowledge of UK & EU markets; US market knowledge is a plus.
- Experience in developing and mentoring team members.
