Exeter - Plant Engineer/Fitter

Job Summary

This role requires a strong technical background, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

• Conduct regular inspections of plant equipment to identify maintenance needs and ensure optimal performance.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to minimise downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with production teams to optimise processes and improve operational efficiency.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, promoting a safe working environment for all staff.
• Participate in project planning and execution for plant upgrades or new installations.

• Proven experience as a Plant Engineer/Fitter or similar role.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, electrical circuits, and hydraulic systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure.
• Proficient in using engineering software and tools for analysis and design.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations is essential.
• A proactive approach to continuous improvement initiatives is highly desirable.
