Job Advert Role Description
Berelands House is located in the town of Prestwick, South Ayrshire, Scotland. Our home offers specialist nursing and dementia support for 63 adults, with 24-hour input from registered nurses. We can also offer end of life/palliative care and respite services.
We aim to provide residents with a secure, relaxed, and homely environment in which their care, wellbeing and comfort are of prime importance. Staff strive to preserve and maintain the dignity, individuality and privacy of all residents within a warm and caring environment, and in so doing will be sensitive to the resident’s ever-changing needs.
We are looking for a Catering Assistant that will also be able to provide the occasional cover for our Cooks.
As part of the Support Services team, our Cooks/Catering Assistants deliver a high quality service to our service users through the creation, presentation and delivery of meals. In-line with the company’s catering policies and procedures, the successful candidate will support the provision of the catering operation, assisting with basic food preparation and hygiene.A capable and reliable team player, you will need to be able to successfully manage pressurized situations with exceptional customer service.
The role:
Responsible for planning, preparing, cooking and serving meals to 63 residents. You will numerate, literate and likely will have been trained to NVQ3 standard with an Intermediate Food Safety Certificate.
As part of the catering team, the role holder will be required to ensure the kitchen and associated areas meet operational hygiene standards and comply with the company’s Assured Safe Catering policies and procedures.
