Job overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated, enthusiastic Clinical Pharmacist to join our patient-focused and progressive Cardiothoracic Services Directorate Pharmacy team.
The post holder will have the opportunity to provide clinical pharmacy services and medicines management to patients on adult Cardiothoracic surgery and Cardiology wards and play an integral role as part of the MDT, ensuring that a sustainable, high quality pharmacy service is provided to Cardiothoracic and Cardiology inpatients in Cardiff and Vale.
The post holder will be supported in developing their practice by our experienced Lead Cardiothoracic and Cardiology Directorate Pharmacists and the excellent team of professionals working within the Cardiothoracic Services Directorate.

Main duties of the job
As a Clinical Pharmacist working in the adult Cardiothoracic Pharmacy team, you will have an integral role in providing high-quality specialist pharmacy services to Cardiothoracic and Cardiology inpatients in Cardiff and Vale.
You will lead by example and will be responsible for the training and development of less experienced team members, as well as Medical and Nursing colleagues.
Your professionalism, excellent inter-personal skills and enthusiasm, will equip you to be a valued contributor to our service and to develop to be a key member of our Clinical Pharmacy team.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications
Essential criteria- Member of the GPhC
- Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society
- Post-graduate clinical qualification or anticipated within 3 months
- Independent prescriber qualification
Experience
Essential criteria- Post registration hospital pharmacy experience
- Cardiothoracic/Cardiology pharmacy experience
Skills
Essential criteria- Good written communication skills
- Demonstrates understanding of essential skills needed for role (e.g. IT skills, knowledge of therapeutics)
- Demonstrates understanding of desirable skills needed (eg leadership, organisation)
