Join our facility in York, where we are committed to improving the lives of people with brain injuries through expert neurorehabilitation. We are seeking a Senior Staff Nurse to provide clinical leadership and ensure the delivery of high-standard nursing care within our dynamic team.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Provide clinical leadership, ensuring exceptional standards of care at all times, acting as a positive role model, and ensuring best practice guidelines are followed.
  • Assist in the effective assessment, admission, and discharge planning with the service user’s care team.
  • Establish systems and processes to ensure effective communication and continuity of service user care.
  • Empower and enable staff to deliver high-quality person-centred care.
  • Promote and facilitate a learning culture within the ward and a culture of reflective practice for all staff.
  • Establish the highest care standards to meet or exceed current standards and ensure that risk management strategies are in place.
  • Responsible for safeguarding all service users by recognizing potential or signs of harm, abuse, and neglect, and taking appropriate actions.
  • Involved in staff recruitment, retention, and the induction of new staff, acting as a mentor for students and newly qualified staff.
  • Promote health and wellbeing among staff and manage any signs of ill health or stress effectively.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Must be an RMN/RNLD with an active PIN.
  • At least two years’ experience as a Staff Nurse within a Neurobehavioral setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritise the work of self and others.
  • Experience in managing a team and a deep understanding of the Mental Capacity Act.
  • Knowledge of NMC standards and experience conducting capacity assessments.
  • Experience with CQC inspections and consulting with external professionals to improve service user experience.
  • Understanding and experience of implementing HR policies and procedures.
