Network Practice Educator - PCC ODN | Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the East of England (EoE) Paediatric Critical Care Network (PCC ODN) for a network practice educator.
This role involves working with the 17 units across the network to support PCC education, collaborating with other regional and supraregionaloperational delivery networks as required, particularly the EoE Surgery in Children and neonatal ODNs.You will be responsible for supporting the planning and delivery of a variety of educational resources for the region including SIM training.
The network has a comprehensive education programme. You will work with the Network Education Lead Nurse on the development of trainingand competency packages and regional guidelines to support skills and knowledge in the local units. You will also participate in national initiatives to develop paediatric critical care education.
You will need to be able to travel independently as visiting all units is essential. The network is hosted by CUH but the network team currentlywork predominantly from home.
The EOE PCC ODN Network Practice Educator will work with the Network Practice Education Lead and Medical Education Lead, supporting the education of nursing, midwifery, allied health professionals, and medical clinical staff within the region using a variety of teaching methods.
The post holder will ensure they are well informed of and act upon national developments affecting education and training within paediatric critical care to ensure robust practice.
The post holder will work with other local and national educational organisations, contributing to curriculum developments in the field of Paediatric Critical Care.
The post holder will work closely with the Network Management Team, Network and Paediatric Critical Care (PCC) Education leads in each Trust, to implement the Network’s education and training objectives and programme. They will also work with neonatal network education team and support the surgery in children ODN team in providing educational opportunities.
The post holder will work closely with a wide range of multi-professional staff groups across the Network and in neighbouring Networks to deliver and evaluate these objectives.
The post will involve travel to Trusts within the EoE region as well as working from home. There will be a requirement to attend team meetings at the host Trust or at other local venues.
