Due to continued growth in a dynamic inhouse legal department, an opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Property Solicitor to join their team, where expertise is valued, and career growth is nurtured.
The role centres on Landlord and Tenant law and large site purchases, offering a stimulating variety of cases that will challenge and enhance your professional capabilities. Candidates should possess a robust background in Commercial Property law, with a minimum of 4 years post-qualification experience (PQE) being ideal. The company values self-sufficiency and the ability to manage a diverse caseload with precision and autonomy.A strong academic record, excellent communication skills, and a detail-oriented approach to legal practice are essential.
Caseloads will consist of the following matters:
- Commercial Secured Lending
- Real Estate Developments
- Landlord and Tenant negotiations
- Commercial, mixed use and residential purchases with change of use options
- Land Acquisition
As this role is in-house you will not have any time recording or billing targets.
Purpose of the Role:
The Commercial Property Solicitor independently manages and makes decisions on cases relating to large site purchases and Landlord and Tenant law.
Working on a variety of cases such as Commercial Secured Lending, Real Estate Developments and Landlord and Tenant negotiations, the Commercial Property Solicitor provides strategic litigation advice to internal and external stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities
Procedures- Run a broad range, high quality caseload with minimal supervision
- Deal with disclosure of commercially sensitive information
- Research appropriate case law and technical and legal precedents to progress matters.
- Provide strategic litigation advice to the Head of Department and colleagues as required.
- Ensure files are managed in compliance with mandatory internal and external procedures and service level agreements
- Monitor and deal with the management of information to all relevant parties in a matter
- Participate in firm-wide and departmental training sessions
- Meet targets as agreed.
- Manage files and time in a cost-effective manner
- Work closely with your line manager and team members
- Collaborate with others, attending meetings as required
- Supporting team members and provide on-the-job training
- Provide cover for other staff as agreed by line manager
- Active participation in project initiatives, including giving and assisting with presentations, writing articles and internal informational correspondence
- Keep up-to-date with all written and verbal communications (i.e. emails/messages/calls)
- Ensure all records are maintained and kept up-to-date according to company policies and procedures
- Monitor own work levels, progress and development in the role
- Undertake all core learning and development programmes as required
- Undertake relevant learning according to agreed Personal Development Plan
- Can adapt to change and ambiguity in a complex, fast-changing environment, and who is competent in coping with uncertainty and risk
- Articulate complex matters in a concise and precise manner and to debate issues and ideas constructively
- Demonstrate the ability to run own files, handle key clients & relationships and work collaboratively as part of a high performing team
