This is an important role which has day-to-day responsibility for promoting and protecting the reputation of the firm through national, legal and industry trade media.

We are a fast-growing and ambitious business which generates a high level of corporate news flow. This role will have responsibility for developing PR plans and draft communications for media and other external stakeholders to promote corporate news.

It will also lead on the development of PR strategies to promote our priority growth areas, including through developing good media relationships and securing comment opportunities for our spokespeople.

This role will be based out of our London office on a hybrid basis.

Responsibilities:

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing PR plans that align with the firm's corporate goals and growth priorities. You will stay on top of industry news and trends to proactively generate opportunities for media comment and coverage.

Additionally, you'll work closely with marketing colleagues outside the UK to ensure consistent messaging and a unified approach. Your role will also involve building and managing relationships with journalists across national, legal, and industry media, including key reporters and editors, to enhance the firm's media presence.

You will create a range of compelling content, such as press releases, articles, reactive media commentary, and social media posts, while incorporating digital PR strategies to amplify these activities. Leveraging digital platforms, including integrating tools like Copilot into PR processes, will be key to enhancing efficiency and maintaining high-quality output.

Additionally, you will collaborate with the Head of Communications to manage crisis communications, while leading and mentoring a PR Executive. You will oversee external PR suppliers, including media monitoring, and implement measurement strategies to report ROI and evaluate PR effectiveness.

What will help you succeed in this role? :

Essential
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly in written communication, with a considerable command of English grammar and punctuation.
  • Considerable stakeholder management skills, capable of building relationships both inside and outside the business.
  • Self-starter with the ability to generate creative ideas, develop content, and persuade stakeholders of the value in their proposed approach.
  • Strategic thinker who can identify PR opportunities that align with the firm's priorities to deliver impactful results.
  • Ability to multi-task, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and remain resilient under pressure.
  • Significant experience in PR, particularly in developing and delivering media relations plans, generating strategically aligned PR opportunities, and achieving quality coverage.
Desirable
  • Experience working within the legal sector or a similar professional environment.
  • Familiarity with managing crisis communications and media inquiries.
