Teacher of Computer Science
You will be joining a thriving computer science department. We value collaboration to ensure there is a vibrant learning and teaching experience for all with opportunities to get involved with visiting speakers, trips, external lectures, presentations, and EPQ.
We offer A Level Computer Science in the Sixth Form with GCSE Computer Science as an option at Key Stage 4. Computer Science courses at A Level and GCSE are popular and have potential to expand. Results are testament to our diligent and hardworking students and staff, and in 2024, 73% achieved grades A*-B in A Level Computer Science, and 71% achieved grades 9 – 7 in GCSE Computer Science.
A substantial number of students go on to study Computer Science related courses at university. In recent years the department has prepared students for courses at Queen Mary University, Cardiff, Sheffield, Nottingham, and Bath.
Super curricular activities include online Gresham College lectures, TED talks, and a variety of competitions. There are a number of virtual trips that explore cutting edge uses of computer science in industry and class chats with tech professionals to inspire interest in the growing field of computing jobs.
- The ability to teach Computer Science at KS3 & KS4 is essential.
- The ability to teach Computer Science at KS5 would be advantageous.

- Contribute to secure the highest standards of pupil achievement, monitoring, tracking, supporting, and evaluating pupil achievement. Setting targets for improvement and implementing effective strategies for underperforming students.
