My client, a well known global transport group worth in excess of £800m, has over 30 years of expertise leading in public transport and customer experience in the UK. Since 2015 they've been expanding their international profile and to date have won multiple international contracts across five countries including Australia and Singapore.
The group is now owned by a consortium of overseas investors after being sold in 2022. The company is now being runn by a new Executive Leadership team and operating under a new strategy to delivery profitable growth and deliver a sustainable future.
The company is based in south London and operate a 5 day working in the office policy.
Job Description
As the Finance Director for the Group's biggest division, a business with annual turnover of c.£600m, you will be responsible for leading the entire finance function, ensuring the financial health and sustainability of the business.This is a key role in the Group, with significant profile and visibility, and involves strategic financial planning, process improvement, driving financial performance, providing commercial insight, and ensuring robust financial controls across the company.
The Finance Director will work closely with the executive team to align financial strategies with the overall business objectives and long-term vision of the company
The Successful Applicant- ACA or ACCA qualified
- Big 4 or Top 6 experience is desirable
- Experience managing large finance functions
- Experience of Contract tendering
- Experience in a dynamic & complex organisations
- Proactively drive and instigate change
- Ability to apply best practice finance processes (& industry processes if from the industry)
- Working closely with other stakeholders across the business (including Group Finance, FP&A, procurement, etc…, as well as local, such as ops, engineering, etc…)
- Can be responsive, work at pace, whilst maintaining quality of output & reporting - someone who excels and thrives under pressure
- Experience level, either in a similar role, or ability to make next step, based on individual, experience, size of current organisation
- Is flexible about being contacted outside of working hours (given the industry they operate in)
- Experience of delivering quality reporting and the ability to present clearly to senior stakeholders and answer Q&A in a fast, reliable, efficient, clear & concise way
