Sports Coach (KS3/4)

We need a committed Sports Coach / Cover Supervisor to join an Alternative Provision in Burnley.
This full-time position runs from now until July 2025, with the potential for a permanent contract. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:20am to 3:20pm.
As a Sports Coach / Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering sports activities to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 pupils. You will work with small groups of students, helping to enhance their learning and support their academic and personal development.
You will assist the Sports department during lessons, and have the opportunity to coach small groups, fostering their skills and engagement in sports. This role is based in an Alternative Provision, so experience with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs and behaviour management is essential.- Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
- Experience working with challenging behaviour, trauma, and Social, Emotional, and Behavioural Difficulties (SEBD).
- Experience delivering sports coaching sessions.
- Familiarity with supporting students with SEMH needs and behaviour challenges.
- Ability to work confidently as part of a team and independently.
- This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable), and professional reference checks.
- Your CV should cover the last 10 years of employment where possible, with explanations for any employment gaps.
- You must have the legal right to work in the UK.
